Some people have asked how long it takes to receive a confirmation that their entry has been received.
It can take a couple months due to the high volume of entries that must be processed. However, if you have entered using the on-line contest entry form and paid with PayPal at the same time, you will get an automatic confirmation.
For contestants who have entered by sending their letters through email and paid through electronic transfer, the timeline is at least two months before Alla and her small team can manually sort letters and match payment with letters. Up to now, Alla has been sending a confirmation email to let people know.
*For contestants who have entered by ‘snail mail’ through the postal service, they can add delivery time on top of that timeline.
Some contestants have been sending extra money in order to shore up entry fees. While Alla appreciates people’s generosity, this violates the contest rules and these donations cannot be applied to the final dollar amount. Instead, help by sponsoring someone else's letter, or encourage friends and family to visit the website and enter the contest.

Letters that are emailed from one email address, but the bank e-transfer email does not match.
This causes a big hold up in processing. Please, make sure that your on-line banking email matches the entry email, so that these can be cross-referenced.
Letters that have difficult (or impossible) to read handwriting.
Some letters have come in with email addresses and other contact information that is very difficult to decipher. If Alla can’t read it, she, unfortunately, will not be able to send a confirmation. If this describes your particular handwriting style, please EMAIL with your name, address, phone number, the email address you used to send your entry, plus the approximate date you sent your letter.
Letters that have no personal information attached to them.
Believe it or not, some contestants have been so focused on their story that they actually forgot to include their name, address, phone number, or email address. If you think you might be in this category, you will have to confirm payment. Send an EMAIL with proof that the entry fee was remitted, along with the approximate date you sent your entry in. Alla and her small team will try to sort it out.
Entries that are submitted along with a payment option not accepted in Canada.
Unfortunately, e-commerce has not caught up with the internet’s ability to connect people from around the world. Some payment methods simply do not work in Canada at this time. We cannot accept the following: GOOGLE PAY, ZELLE, VENMO TRANSFERS.
This also causes delays in getting down to the business of reading all your letters. Please arrange to make payment by another method since the above formats will not have gone through. Contact Alla and her small team to rectify this.
Multiple entries that are sent from the same address.
Please be aware that the contest rules state that only one entry per person or household will be valid. Do not send more than one entry in please. However, if you entered online and want to send a photo to accompany your entry, you can send it in a separate email (it will still count as only 1 entry). BUT—you must include the email you used to send in your entry, as well as your other personal particulars, so it can be cross-referenced.
Contestants asking for information that is already available on the website.
Alla has been receiving a huge number of messages on social media, as well as through email which ask questions that are already answered on this website. Some contestants have even telephoned her. Please, look through the information that is available on the website before contacting Alla and her small team. Please be advised that it is not always possible to receive a timely reply to questions.
Contestants contacting Alla on more than one social media platform with the same question.
If you have sent Alla a message on one social media platform, please do not send a duplicate message on another. This clogs up inboxes and needlessly slows things down. All messages will be read. If the answer is not readily available on the website (which contains A LOT of the information), you will receive a response. Please be patient. Alla and her small team are working as fast as they can.

Please do not contact Alla by telephone as she is as busy as she has ever been in her life, and is dealing with a painful medical situation.
*Please be advised that speaking on the phone with Alla may be construed as a conflict of interest. Alla has gone through great pains to follow the rules and regulations set out for the contest. Alla will continue to post periodic live videos on YouTube. This will give followers an opportunity to ask her questions in real time.
Personal requests that have nothing to do with the contest.
These can include such things as invitations to becoming friends outside social media, marriage proposals, or invitations of various sorts. Alla is a ‘people person’ and sincerely appreciates contestants and their letters, but please respect her personal boundaries.
